SUMMARY:Grand Meadow Groundbreaking Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:  \nCelebrate this neighborhood milestone with us! \nIt’s been four years since Friends of Grand Meadow formed to dream\, plan\, and engage our neighbors about creating a food forest and community garden at our park. \nNow\, thanks to years of vision\, hard work\, and partnership\, construction at Grand Meadow Park is set to begin soon and we’re throwing a party tomark this long-awaited milestone! \nBring your friends\, family\, and neighbors for a day of food\, fun\, and festivities: \n🌮 Food provided by Austin Parks Foundation\n🍪 Bake Sale supporting future park programming – please bring individually wrapped baked goods to support the park\n🎨 Kids’ activities \nWe want to thank all who helped bring us to this point. It’s been over 20 years since the very first community conversations about bringing a park to our neighborhood. Many neighbors have advocated for a park over the years. In the last four years we have partnered with Fruitful Commons for fiscal sponsorship\, the City of Austin Community Garden Department for support with the garden permit\, and Austin Parks Foundation. We are immensely grateful that APF chose our park for Overall Park Planning services and helped us create a concept plan that reflects the values and desires of our community. They have gone a huge step forward and are now facilitating building the first phase of that plan!! Once this first phase is completed\, we can begin building and planting our community garden and food forest. \nPlease RSVP so we can know how much food and beverages to bring. And please forward this invitation to anyone who may be interested in attending! \nDetails \nSaturday\, August 30th\, 2025\nGrand Meadow Park\n8022 Thaxton Rd\, Austin\, TX 78747
