Creating Wonderful Soil For Our Community

Friends of Grand Meadow Composting Program is a part of our food sustainability project.  Simply, we will be collecting food scraps door to door in our local community and using those in Grand Meadow Park to create rich nutritious soil for all of our planting programs. By participating in our food sustainability project, you are giving to our hyper local efforts to produce healthy food for our community.

FAQ

  • – Compost is gathered at the street in 5 gallon buckets provided by the program.
  • – Compost is dispersed at Grand Meadow Park in compost area.
  • – A volunteer will bring a new compost bin to members each Monday and take collected food scraps. 
  • Volunteers will then bring collected scraps to Grand Meadows Park and compost scraps.
  • – Members must collect scraps and dump into the composting bin.
  • – Mondays members will set their compost bin outside their door by Monday afternoon.
  • – Compost is picked up on Mondays.
